What are evaluations?

Evaluations provide the opportunity for coordinators and coaches to assess the ability of players. This process assists in placing players appropriate to their skill level, and balancing all teams in the division equally.  There are a number of stations designed to display fielding, speed, coordination and agility.  Through which the players rotate and are observed and assessed according to specific criteria.

If your child is unable to attend Evaluations they will be randomly placed, or placed based on previous experience for returning players.

How often do they practice?

1 to 2 days a week at the least, including weekends.  Practice days are determined by the coach.

How often do they play?

Season, Games, Practices, etc… Players, Teams, Equipment Registration, Fees, etc… Coaching, volunteering Questions or Concerns

League Age is the player’s age as of the Age Determination Date.  Input from volunteers, parents, and coaches has helped to ultimately change the Age Determination Date to August 31st . The new date will be effective for all divisions starting with the 2019 Little League Baseball Season.  During the upcoming seasons, these changes will be phased into each age group.  (The current date is April 30th for some divisions)

Why the change? In 2011, Little League conducted very detailed research. As a result of that research, we learned that parents, players, and volunteers wanted to see Little League become, as a whole, a younger program, and give children an easier way to play Little League with their classmates. Adjusting the age determination date to August 31st will help us achieve that goal.

What does that mean exactly? A player’s LEAGUE AGE may be higher than their actual age.

Example:  When a player registers in the spring they may only be 8 years old. But if they have a birthday on or before the Age Determination Date they are considered 9 years old. In this case it would mean the player is now eligible to play in a higher division.  FEES are also based on a players League Age
